Screen Resolution And Readability: What You Should Know

Lots of interesting info here. Some excerpts:

Confusion over what’s commonly referred to as “screen resolution” causes headaches for computer users – literally. People all over the world are having a computing experience that’s nowhere near as good as it could or should be because their displays are wrongly set.

Interestingly there are a lot of tweaks that can be made to align our LCD monitors for better reading.

A read through some of the links in the post above, leads to this excellent talk by Kevin Larson from Microsoft.

Get your popcorn ready before you get started, this one is sure to get you hooked.

Lastly, not the least I would like to mention “Readability” the javascript/firefox plugin that extracts the reading material from a webpage in an easy to read format.

Although complete from a layout, font etc perspective, I prefer white over black for readability (maybe because I started with console screens in my early computing days). Hoping to find something that will allow me to do that.
